The Prince
Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 8:47AM Alright, I want to make things official about The Prince. The Prince is a novella I wrote to accompany The Selection Trilogy. It’s basically a short story that takes place within the timeline of the first book. The Prince came about mostly because of my wonderful editor, Erica Sussman. As we were editing The Selection, she asked all these fantastic questions. Some of them led me to start looking at things the way other people in the stories would see them. In the end, I wrote two scenes from different POVs, one from Aspen’s and one from Maxon’s.
The Prince is taking that scene from Maxon’s perspective and elaborating on it. If you’ve ever wondered what the whole Selection thing looks like through his eyes, then I think you’ll really love this. It will be out exclusively in e-format (which, if you don’t have an e-reader, you can still access on your computer) and should be released March 5, 2013, just before The Selection comes out in paperback. I seriously can’t wait to share. I’m almost as excited about you guys having this as I am about handing over The Elite next April!

WOW. Yayayayay!!!!! That is so awesome!! This is great, because I WAS wondering what it was like from Maxon's eyes!!! EEeeeee!!!! I really hope America gets chosen, because he likes her and she would be a good queen. So really, it seems like it'd be good for the whole country, if the king is happy and the queen is a good one, right? And she shows Maxon a whole lot more of the country than anyone else has shown him. Like the castes and stuff, and how bad it is out there... And she is his friend, and "friendship is fertile soil for love to grow"! ;D Omgosh, I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sigh. xD

Oh my gosh!!! I'm super pumped for both The Prince and The Elite! Just wish it wasn't so long away! It will be really cool to see Maxon's view of the whole selection, that went through my mind while reading the first, what is madonna thinking? Now I know what's on my b-day list :)

Oh my goodness. pppllleeeeaaaaasssseee let the book come out sooner! I could'nt put The Selection down! If you let The Elite come out before Christmas, you would make so much more money than you would sometime in April. Its something to seriousley consider! i know i would definitley buy it for my friends for christmas! Think like Maxon! Think about your people!!!

I'm so excited for both the elite and the prince to come out.I hope prince Maxon wins America, because I really never liked aspen as much. I'm so dissapointed and angry about what America did, and I'm wondering how shes going to get out of it. I cant wait! I love your writing!
