Monday, July 2, 2012 at 4:17PM Okay, a few things. First, yes, we have power again and are safe and sound! Thanks for all your concern over the last few days.
Second, in case you missed it, The Selection is heading to China! As with most of the translations, I'm not sure when it will be there, but I'm working on that. Honest!
And third, The Selection Series Facebook page posted the playlist for The Selection! A few quick notes about this: What You Wish For by Guster is on there twice, but it's only in the playlist once. And there are two songs on the list that playlist.com didn't have, but I wanted you to know they were in there: It's a Disaster by OK Go, and Spinning by Jack's Mannequin. I hope you have fun lining up songs and scenes!
In not exactly an update news, I'm hoping to share some info about the CW pilot soon. I have to get the ok from some peeps first!
And... that's it. This time next week, I'll be snuggling with Zuzu! Wahooooo!

I'm also questioning your reasoning as to why you would considered this the place to comment on such an irrelevant and controversial matter that does not pertain in the slightest to the article above.

Hi, Ashamed. Sorry to call you that, but it's all I've got.
I'm very sorry to have offended you. The entire incident that unfolded on twitter/goodreads kind of sucked. You’re right, it wasn’t pretty. But I want to clarify a few things, and I hope you’ll hear me out. If you go back and look, you'll see my agent did the name calling, not me, and I hope that you can tell from my videos/posts/twitter feed that I'm not a malicious person. What Elana said was done in haste and wasn't appropriate, and she apologized for it. I've also written to Wendy multiple times apologizing, and I keep hoping she'll write me back. So far, no luck, but I’m still optimistic.
I found out recently that she’s dealt with some fallout from all this, and if it’s half of what’s come my way, it’s incredibly unfair. I don’t wish that upon her and have no ill will towards her at all. I don’t even mind bad reviews, actually. I think they’re a good measure of reaching a wide audience. When that happened, I was a newbie hoping for piles of awesome and learning to deal with the fact that some people were just going to hate my book. It was hard to see a negative review at the top of my goodreads page at the time, but it’s probably not something I would notice these days. I try to focus on the good things that have come from writing The Selection. There’s a lot to be grateful for, and I can bypass the worst of things a little easier now.
All the same, I’m still very sorry to Wendy, and I’m sorry to have upset you as well. Not sure if you’ll even see this apology, but I hope you do. If you do write back, I probably won’t be able to respond here as I’m having a baby on Monday. Also, I don’t typically check these comments (Baby Girl is kicking, and I can’t sleep!). But feel free to get a hold of me through the email form on my contact page any time. Again, I’ll probably be slow, but I’ll try. Thanks for writing.

Kiera! I'm so incredibly excited for The Elite to come out. I know you'll more than likely not see this, but I'm still hopeful. Ahh, I have literally read The Selection 5 times, lol. Yeah.. I love it a little too much. Oh, random question: is The Elite going to be a little longer than The Selection? I certainly hope so. I'm dying for a lot of information. I think Marlee is hiding something. My guess is questionable. I'll guess I'll just have to wait and see, though. I hope America chooses Maxon. I'm annoyed at Aspen right now. Oh!!! I cannot wait to hear more about the pilot. Please, someone tell me what their guess about Marlee is. I mean, I feel like she doesn't want to go back home for a specific reason.
I just finished The Selection! Awesome book! I too think Marlee is hiding something, maybe she's not as sweet as America thinks.I also predict that Aspen will do something stupid and reveal his love to America in front of Maxon. Hi Kiera! I had heard a lot of great things about your book from multiple sources and took a leap of faith reading it, and I am glad I did- the book was so awesome! I loved it! And, now, I just read that theres a pilot coming out, and cant wait for that either! I recommend your book to everyone i know and am anxious to start reading book 2!
Katelyn, my guess about Marlee is that she is in love with someone in the castle, most likely one of the guards, but that is just one of my many guesses. I can not wait for the second book to come out, I just adore The Selection. To Kiera, thank you for writing such a wonderful book-keep it up!
Bella, I didn't think about that at all. That's what it could be, I feel like it's something like deep though.. I think she has something going on at home, I'm just not sure what. You're probably right. I just want to know. I wish we could have a preview of the first chapter. Even if it's only a few pages. I know that can't happen though. *sad face* Anywho, do you like Maxon or Aspen? I like Maxon. Yep. He's a keeper.
Katelyn, Maxon! I think that Maxon deserves her and I would prefer him and America together. I agree that having the first chapter would be glorious! But what I really want is the cover of the next book. I just loved the cover of The Selection and I can't wait to see what the next cover will look like. Also I would like to thank you Katelyn for pointing out to me that there could be something going on at Marlee's home; What do you think it could be?
I have to agree with Bella about Marlee's possible love interest. I kept thinking that someone was bound to fall for one of the guards in the story. Can't wait to find out if that is true or not. Also, I'm curious about some of the other characters - Queen Amberly, and the rebels seem fascinating. A possible theory of mine is that Aspen is working with one of the rebel groups.

I know! I wish we could see it! I loved The Selection cover. Uh, I don't really know. Maybe she has something going on like America had with Aspen and Maxon kept a promise to Marlee, too. Or maybe I'm just crazy. I don't know.
Wow, Katelyn and Mandie, aspen working with the rebels?! oh that would be horrible, but about the rebels i cant help thinking that the southerners are going to get in and something terribly wrong will happen. I'm also curious as to what they are searching for-if Maxon's theory is correct. oh, now that i think about it, i can't stop thinking about it, what could the rebels possibly want? Anyone have a theory?
I honestly don't know what they could be searching for, if that's the case. I wish we knew. We thought this book was a cliffhanger, I can imagine what The Elite will be like... A lot must happen in this book, If there are only 6 girls. A lot has to happen, right? I hope this book is longer than The Selection. *sigh* I wish it was out already.
